3% approval rating

Boy, isn't that a hoot. Congress, under the leadership of Pelosi & Reid, have an approval rating of 3% in their handling of the war.

I can't find any articles that have this statistic.

I'm tired of googling variations.

Can you supply a link gmeyers?

All I could find is this: Zogby International - and it's not about the war, it's about illegal immigration

FOUND IT!!! LOLOLOLOL

Zogby International
(To avoid confusion, it does link to a different page than Tristan's.)

–only 3% give Congress positive marks for how it has handled the war.

hmmmm LOL

3% ratings on two different issues

doesn't that seem a bit odd and coincidental?

I know Zogby is a reliable firm - but where did they take this poll, a Republican clam bake?

It's kind of difficult to find someone who approves of the Democrats' weird stuff they come up with in an attempt to look like they're reaching across the isle. This is exactly why I was so skeptical when the Democrats kept preaching they were going to be a Congress of bipartisanship in 2006. Even if they did manage to come to agreement on things, nearly every compromise would look unappealing to both sides.

Really one of the very few things they 'accomplished' (if you want to give it that term), the minimum wage, was just so weak to give an example. It only raised the minimum wage to a measly $5.85 from the previous ten-year reign of $5.15. This is still below the poverty line. It's not supposed to get to the still very-low (but better, no doubt) rate of $7.25 until the summer of 2009. And the Democrats in Congress are celebrating as if this is some grand accomplishment. It's sad to say the least.

But to be fair, I think when one says "Democratic Congress", it's definitely an overstatement. They just barely have a "majority" in the technical sense.

The same can be said about the "Republican Congress" that was before the '06 election.

True I suppose, though they did have a larger majority then than the Democrats have now, albeit their (The GOP) majority wasn't much better anyway.

A three percent approval rating in anything is abysmal. Here's a thought: Who are the 3% that approve of Congress's handling of the Iraq War?

Democrats and liberals (Yes I'm aware that I'm using simplistic terms like liberal and conservative and I know that the peoples' views are much more diverse than that, sue me.) and really the majority in this country are upset at the Republicans and the President for stifling the efforts of the Democrats trying end this war, some of them are also mad at the Democrats for not trying harder; also, Republicans and conservatives are mad at Democrats and a few anti-Iraq War Republicans for even attempting to end this war as they see it, prematurely.

Factor the very low overall Congressional job approval ratings (high to mid 20s) as well, and it really becomes less shocking when you think about it. Still, 3%? LMAO!!!!

Congress: Job Ratings

Yeah, I'm aware of the low approval rating of Congress (as an institution), but 3% seems a bit unrealistic. I'm pretty sure that there are more Democratic loyalists than that. The Democratic Party isn't that broken.
