Gays enjoy getting AIDS?
I copied this from another forum. Has anybody heard this before?

Gay men fantasising about passing on HIV may encourage some to set out to become infected with the virus

HIV positive men, known as "gift-givers", who want to transmit the virus to so-called "bug chasers" - HIV negative or untested men - do so in an apparently negotiated exchange.

HIV positive man Ricky Dyer is an investigative journalist for the BBC. He went onto a gay dating site as an experiment and was appalled to find dozens of apparent bug chasers contact him within days saying that they want to be "pozzed up" - infected with the virus.

Carlos, a 32 year old gay man living in New York, has an intense desire to become infected with HIV. The moment of transmission, said Carlos, will be, "the most erotic thing I can imagine."

Becoming HIV positive will initiate Carlos into "a brotherhood." He will apparently become part of a flourishing community of bug chasers and gift givers who meet online in chat rooms dedicated to bug chasing.

I'm shocked but not surprised...Something else to read about. Let's me see what I can find.

Seems to be based on old info and a documentary movie.

Return of the bug chaser: a controversial documentary on gay men who seek HIV infection gets its U.S. premiere, renewing a national debate about unsafe sex and AIDS Advocate, The - Find Articles

"Safe sex"??? Yeaahh right.

Seems this has been covered here before though...

In reading the DTT link though...I ran across this exchange about Tristan donating blood...
http://www.defendingthetruth.com/gay...html#post66058 (Deliberately Transmitting HIV)

If this is true, my opinion of Tristan has gone from a regular online apathy, to serious real life disgust. Whether we agree with the rule, considering the seriousness of blood, "civil disobedience" in this case doesn't quite cover the gravity of his actions.

I'm hoping it is just regular online bravado though.

well, well, well ... and who is spending Sunday afternoon discussing gay people (specifically gay men) instead of spending their day with their (supposed) families?

LOL

everybody - you only get one guess! LOL

Actually my wife is at work and my son is asleep.

And my real purpose for logging in was to "discuss" abortion. A topic which will never include gay men for obvious reasons.

I just read the thread. I wasn't a member here at that time so I missed it. Totally astonishing. Tristan donates blood as a means of civil disobedience. I used to think he was an OK guy even though we didn't agree most of the time. Then when he said there's nothing wrong with incest, I started to have my doubts. Now that I've read that thread, my opinion of him has slid into the abyss.

Tell me about it. I can't wait til tomorrow when the others NUB's read that. I can't wait to see other opinions on his "civil disobedience". I find it despicable. But not too far from what I would expect from Tristan going by some of his other posts. At least he's consistent on his racist analogies though.

The topic came up...A pretty darn interesting one too. Especially when I saw your disgusting "civil disobedience" thread. Which is what that turned into very quickly. I might even say that that is a bit more depraved than the "bug chaser" topic.

She's a department manager, not my idea. I'd much rather have her here. But mortgages don't pay for themselves. Especially on 5000 sq.ft. houses.
