Griffin gets the hook for using N-word
MIAMI - A standup routine by black comedian Eddie Griffin was stopped after he repeatedly used the N-word, a magazine's spokesman said Wednesday.
Griffin, who has appeared in movies such as "Undercover Brother" and "Date Movie" and the TV show "Malcolm & Eddie," was performing at a Black Enterprise magazine event in the Miami suburb of Doral on Friday when he was cut off after using profanities and the N-word, said Andrew Wadium, a spokesman for the publication.
"We believe that ending the performance was the appropriate action," Wadium said. Griffin gets the hook for using N-word - Yahoo! News |

I'm Black myself; but I am sick of Black comedians thinking that using this dehumanizing label towards us is funny. And then wondering why it's so bad when a White does it. It's a bad process that continually feeds upon itself, with no end to it. "It's okay for me to behave in this fashion; but you shouldn't". If a black comedian can't use the N word as a color in his artistic palette then you guys have lost all perspective.
Words are just words. It is the intent of the use of any word that matters.
And even though the article wasn't about Kathy- she is funny as FUCK!!!!!

Either we can accept one standard or we can't. It's not just use of the N-word (although that probably is the most quoted of the double standards applied). Maybe it's just me. I never really found Polish jokes funny; neither imprecations againt Jewish people. I'm actually more a fan of the Rodney Dangerfield " I get no respect" dialogues. | |
