| STOP THE PRESSES DNA testing proves that executed man was not only a rapist and murderer but a liar as well. That's right ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, the results are finally in, and prove beyond a doubt that Roger Keith Coleman was guilty of the rape and murder of his sister-in-law, Wanda McCoy. After repeatedly denying his guilt, Coleman was execute in 1992 at the age of 33. Prior to his death Coleman had the following to say;
“An innocent man is going to be murdered tonight. When my innocence is proven, I hope America will realize the injustice of the death penalty as all other civilized countries have.”
Coleman prior to his execution was able to convince four newspapers and a ministry of his innocence, and these organizations had continued the fight to exonerate Coleman. The governor of Virginia, in one of his final acts as governor ordered the DNA testing. Death penalty opponents had been hoping that finally the Coleman case would prove beyond a reasonable doubt that an innocent had been executed and thus change the debate on the death penatly in this country.
Well the Coleman supporters were in for a shock. The DNA tests not proved that Coleman raped and murdered his sister-in-law, but proved that he was a liar as well. That's right despite all his claims of innocence, Coleman was in fact guilty. In other words ladies and gentleman, this man who garnered international attention about his case is not only a rapist and murderer but a liar to boot. Now who would have thunk it???? I mean come on folks, why is anyone surprised that someone who commits rape and murder is also a liar. Coleman supporters are still in shock and disbelief over the results of the test, but once again it just goes to show that although are legal process may not be perfect, it still works.
