A word of warning Jon: If DtT truly becomes global, alot of people are not going to like the level of moderation and political correctness practiced here. I think you should visit BC forums to get a taste of what I'm talking about. You would have to commit murder on that board to get an infraction, and that's the way the Brits like it.

This is a typical quote from BC forums. The Brits don't mind talking to each other this way and abhore political correctness. Some of the members on this board might have a problem with that. By the way, the quote below doesn't even come near an infraction on BC.

I couldnt beleive that a cunt like you could be even on the lowest rung of KL'S class ladder so I took the trouble to look the word up but couldnt find it anywhere then a librerian freind looked it up for me. And Pensi, you know we loves ya on BC because you're a brilliant wind-up artist, but just in case anyone here *does* take your post seriously, BC is unique. It makes a lot of serious posts, but it has numerous posts that are basically glorified pantomime, and we love it - but it's not typical of British boards by any means. BC started off as a spin-off from a posting forum of a major British ISP (LineOne, now taken over by Tiscali), and a post like that on Tiscali wouldn't see the light of day!

You're right, though, that post doesn't come close to an infraction on BC.

I, for one, appreciate a modicum of civility ... there are many forums based in the U.S. which are also 'anything goes' boards.

Thanks, I was hoping you would chime in. I eventually learned that most of the degrading posts on BC are not really as mean-spirited as the first appear to be. Many of you blokes personally know each other and just enjoy talking that way. If this board were to receive more international visitors, I think there will be a bit of a culture shock and a boatload of bannings. That would distract others from joining the board and therefore making it difficult to become truly global.

Too bad you don't practice what you just preached.
