It's scandalous what women can get away with.

"Prosecutors described Hockett as a woman "thirsty for sex" who gained the trust of the boy's mother by offering to tutor him. Hockett was sentenced to six months in prison, 10 years probation and a $10,000 fine."

If a male teacher had done this to a girl he'd be locked away for years and then branded and tracked as a sexual offender.

What happened to equality of the sexes??

Not exactly true Gary. Many times sexual predators have not been prosecuted. Schools settings can breed discontent. Predators or a vengeful student? There have been cases known both ways.

The woman will also be a registered sex offender the rest of her days when her jail time is finished.

Prosecutors are not always zealous about prosecuting sexual predators in small communties. When it comes to teachers/school marms/institutional members, women or men that have sexually assaulted teenagers are sometimes not prosecuted due to their local political connections.

On the other hand. Some are prosecuted when their is no such assault. The prosecution is sometimes pursued in order to damage and maim reputations. Even if in the end the prosecution is halted it is too late for the wrongfully accused their reputations are ruined or/and tainted.
