The fact is that if companies went drilling for oil in Alaska, the majority of the destruction would go unseen, it always does. It's like watching a documentary on a murder case on TV, you don't see people getting killed or raped or mutilated, you just see blurry photos and a few interviews. Okay, I'm going to have to cut this short because I have to head out right now. We can continue this later!

What don't you understand about the term "worldwide". This means that if ALL the oil in the world was utilized (even that which resides in Alaska) it would not be enough to cover the country's and world's ever growing energy demands.

| There is still so much undrilled oil that not even your liberal run Green Peace group knows about. They just like to scare people into believing things. Like Global Warming. They have not one iota of scientific evidence that pollution causes it. There was even a show about how the earth naturally warms up and cools down. We would have more nuclear power plants but democrats won't allow it. Republicans have Morals. Liberals just have feelings. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Now even if we don't see immediate results, global warming will still take it's toll in time (unless we take som sort of action). If you put a room temperature metal block over a flame, it will continue to heat until it has reached equilibrium with the flame. That's what's happening to Earth. Serious pollution sources include oil refineries, nuclear power plants, nuclear waste dumps, incinerators, PVC factories, car factories, plastic factories, corporate animal farms, and even regular garbage dumps where toxic substances are often dumped illegally. And these are just the most common sources of pollution.

| Your only looking at a baised site for your enviromental facts. Take it both sides. I read Pro Republican books and Pro Democratic books. I made the correct decision and went with the Right. Republicans have Morals. Liberals just have feelings. | |||||||||||||||||||||

So democrats and/or republicans get to decide what is correct in regards to the enviromental facts?? Not say... scientists? Interesting "decision".

The only reason you made the "right decision" is because you're too hesitant to let go of all the wonderful material goods the American corporations have provided you. Look, the fact is that anyone who knows the history of the planet (and I mean really KNOW their history, not just what they got from their high school biology class) will tell you that this new, industrial age we live in is definately taking a toll on the planet. You can't look at all the man-made waste that's produced and say "Ohhh, that doesn't hurt our ecosystem at all!" There's no doubt that continuous industrial production assists in ozone depletion and global dimming. Not to mention the arguments against man-made global warming are simply weak because they basically say "But you don't know for sure". The fact that humanity isn't 100% positive about the effects the Industrial Revolution has had on global warming (even though, we ARE sure that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are a cause of global warming) doesn't mean we can't play it safe! We disrespect nature enough already by experimenting on the creatures she harbors and sponsoring wars on her soil and basicly trashing the place with skyscrapers, shopping malls, theme parks, etc.
