High Health care costs for

Cancer ruling heats up immigration debate - Cancer - MSNBC.com

Can chemotherapy be considered emergency care?

And if so, why should we have to pay for it for illegals?

Only if the illegals can pay for it. However, chemotherapy is not emergency care. Stabilize them, treat the pain, and out the door. Even legal immigrants on temporary visas are NOT suppose to get charity care for treatments.

ANybody who thinks chemo is emergency care is nuts. First of all, only the patient's doctor knows how much is needed to give, and when.

You know, to me this is really upsetting.

You hear of people all the time not being able to get the treatment they need because the insurance companies won't pay, or they don't have insurance at all.

Yet people are upset because the Federal Government said Medicaid won't pay for chemotherapy for illegals? WTF!?!?!?!
