  |  Congratulations Chief Petty Officer Tadpole! Just wanted to announce Tony's (Tadpole's) recent promotion to Chief petty officer! He has been busy with his Chief's initiation and ask I give everyone his regards. He'll be back in here soon but I thought I'd let you all in on his promotion. As most of you know, Tad did a tour in Afaghanistan, a sailor attached to an army unit, on the ground. Army Sailor -- War in the Sandbox... I also have to mention that Tad is being redeployed, soon, this time to Iraq. I believe he'll have water under him, this time rather than being on the ground. I thank him for his service to our country and his dedication to helping keep our country safe. I am honored to call him a true friend and a hero among us. Keep your eyes out for my interview with Tad; at your local DtT news stand soon. | Big congrats!! Making Chief in the Navy is a very big deal. I wish I was still an officer as I would love to represent him during his initiation. For those of you who don't know, the Navy tradition calls for the new chief to select an officer to "represent" him during the chief's initiation. During the initiation, "charges" are brought against the new chief and he is forced to do a number of silly things as his "punishment." The officer is present to represent him, but of course, the officer gets alot of shit too. | |||||||||||||||||||||
