Some of the recent post reminded me of a true story from some years ago.

A dear friend had several children and grandchildren. Yet her life to her was very miserable. She was nearing fifty and had been married only once to the same man for thirty years. He was a seemingly nice person.

Well She had a problem so she went to her family doctor about it. She was unsure where to turn. Their Catholic church was of no help to her for that was where her husband had gotten his beliefs.

She tells the doctors her woes. They had not had sex or made love for more than twenty years. Her husband believed sex was strictly and only to create children. Once it became apparent no more children were to be born that was it. He cut her off and had not even considered since their youngest had been born.

The doc told her, "Well Cythia you have a few choices." "You can either live without sex the rest of your life, divorce him or simply cheat on him and go get you some." She said, "That's it! Some help you are." She went home just as fustrated as she had been before she walked into his office.

She pondered the situation she was in for a few more months. Her husband was a good man, a great dad and with the exception of filling her personal needs a great husband. She did love him and did not want to divorce him but she really felt the need to be gratified sexually. So one day she determined to do it. She was just going to cheat on him. Find someone and have an affair.

She drove to the next nearest community. Stopped at the first bar/lounge she saw. Parked. Got out of her car. Took a deep breath and told her self, "This is it. I am going to do this." It took all the courage she could muster to walk through the doors into the bar. As the door closed behind her she heard someone yell from the end of the bar farthest from her, "Fresh meat!!!"

Humiliated she quickly exited the building and got in her car and rushed home. A few months later she shared her experience. Even by then she could laugh as she told the story of her experience. It took some time but she eventually shared her attempt at cheating with her husband. He and she both entered into counciling and live very happily together making love and traveling the country together.
