2006 Winter Olympics

So i noticed there isn't a topic on the 2006 winter olympic games, taking place in Torino, Italy, yet. so i decided to start a new one, so what is everyones predictions in some of the main events? who will have the most medals at the end of the olympics?

my thoughts are that ice hockey is the main one, and my Canadian boys and girls will both take the gold, with the silver in men's hockey going to czech republic, who have a real deep team and good goaltending, and bronze in men going to Russia with an explosive offense and solid goaltending, but of course like i said Canada men's team will walk away with gold because they have 4 solid lines with a good scoring punch and real good grit on their team, a solid defense of international superstars and perhaps one of, if not the best goalie in the world today in Martin Brodeur. And as for medal count it will either go to USA, China or Germany, the 3 powerhouses of the winter games, but beware of Canada, they r getting stronger in winter olympics.

Well thoroughly disappointed in 2 things, firstly, no one replies to my topic, and secondly the Canadian Men's hockey team will be coming home from Turin without a medal, now the question arises, are we(Canada) still the greatest hockey nation in the world?

And on a happier note, congratulations to Brad Gushue and his rink, as they won the gold medal in men's curling for Canada over Finland, great job guys!

I have really been enjoying the winter olympics. I have dual citizenship with Sweden and America so I am really excited about the Swedish Men's Hockey team playing in the final this Sunday.

Heja Sverige!

I've heard about the sport of curling but I've never seen it in action until recently when I was watching the olympics. Such an interesting sport!

Anyone see the streaker??
