Anybody Else Contribute To This Forum?
Out of all the members on this site, I have three on ignore.

Yet, in the gay marriage threads, those three completely monopolize...one of the reasons they are on ignore.

Once in a while there will be a post from forester or crazy or myt - but for the most part, the nasty, mean-spirited posts from these three completely dominate the forum...which, unless things have made a 180, are always insulting and offensive.

Remember when this forum had MANY members posting? Now there are threads which, because of the ignored three, are almost completely blank!

What a shame that three members have been allowed to destroy a really good exchange of ideas. It would sometimes get heated - no question - but, there were always 10-12 people participating.

Sad.

So in other words, as long as people were posting easily refutable circular arguments and just asking DAQ's back and forth, things were fine, but when someone came in with strong convictions and didn't get chased away by Foundits long ass posts, there's a problem? Sounds like bullshit to me. From what I remember when I joined, no one was around to disagree but Gary. This was just a big ole pro-gay echo chamber.
I hereby ask RHS to PM me, or even make it public, if he thinks my contributions are excessive, out of line, or undesirable. When I crossed his line, he told me, and it won't happen again. But blaming me for any mass exodus sounds rather extreme. And if it is true, well I pity the fool that runs from a good argument. Cause I'll never do that as many of you know by now.
And I have TONS of free time.

Quit your fucking sniveling Tristan. If you didn't have me on ignore, you would see that I've making a lot of posts about my experiences in Iraq. You would also see that the vast majority of my posts are far from mean-spirited (I apologized for the recent one that was). You need to get your facts straight before you chastise other people. You're too damn old to be whining so damn much.

Well I have contributed to this forum quite a bit...and that because I truly and whole-heartedly believe in the equal rights for all people.

And the basic right for everyone to be loved.

Now the thing is that when I meet someone or consider someone, be it a neighbor, a member of the armed forces, a fellow employee, whatever...

I do not give it any thought what they do for sex. Or who they do it with. And I do not picture it.

I think that people need to stop picturing what other people do for sex. And deal with others on the basis of why you are in their sphere of living at all. If it is a teacher, learn. If it is a soldier, honor. If it is a neighbor, commune.

And as to the question raised here in the OP, who does and does not post at this particular forum, well Tristan...with all respect to ya, who cares how many chime in at all?

sorry, oh_dear - didn't mean to leave you out LOL

yes, I know that you contribute here - and appreciate your input on things.

oh, I care - it made for a far more interesting, enlightening, entertaining and varied discussion when there were many people participating ... and we have to be realistic that some of the most knowledgeable people on the issue have been driven away by the insipid one-liners and/or offensive insults and bigoted comments made by a very few.

What's sad is your myopia and sense of denial.

If you were really interested in a "good exchange of ideas" you wouldn't put anybody on ignore?

Why is it only the pro-homosexual gang that lacks the backbone to stand up and defend their beliefs?

Sooner rather than later they put people on ignore or run off with their tails between their legs.

Even foundit has given up the fight (which must be saving a fortune in storage fees).

I didn't know calling people stupid, unintelligent, and generally talking about the person and not the topic passed as "good exchange of ideas".

Mr. G. Sher,

I have not run off with my tail between my legs. Not that I even have a tail, but if I did, I am still standing here, immoveable in my belief that equality extends to the gay community for the benefit of all people. For peace.

And I am not gay even. And wish not to even consider what my fellow brothers or sisters in this great family of America do in their sex lives at all. Think about it. What they do, certainly does not bear weight on the matters of justice and equality. Or and moreover, acceptance and love. And what I do does not enter into how I ought to be regarded by fellow citizens either.

Nor has anybody else that I know of.

But most sane people eventually reach the point of not being willing to wade through post after post of offensive insults and circular arguments to discuss an issue with people who have more interest than making insulting comments and going out of their way to hurt others' feelings.

Nobody has "run off with (their) tail between (their) legs." They have merely realized that this forum has been - and obviously will continue to be - monopolized by just a few individuals who are either disinterested or incapable of civilized discussion. They may have been "shoved off" - but nobody has "run off."

Good for you Bonnie!

I'm glad you have the backbone to stand up for what you believe.

Pity the same cannot be said for some of your brothers and sisters in the "gay community "
