Hysterectomy
Anyone here have a hysterectomy? Mine was a week ago. I'm going nuts. I went off the pain meds two days ago, got my staples out yesterday, and I'm supposed to "rest and relax and take lots of naps for the NEXT TWO WEEKS!

I'm already going out of my mind not being allowed to drive (hubby swiped my jeep) cook, clean, or ANY damn thing!

I've checked several places on line for post hysterectomy support, but all I find is a S*** load of woman complaining and whining about it. Some of them are 6 months post surgery and still complaining of pain.

What gives?

Is there a huge conspiracy to milk this surgery for everything possible, or am I just weird?

I just got a brand new Greek cookbook and I want back in my kitchen!!!

Bother not the cat. For they are sneaky and will piss on thy keyboard.

Cat glad to hear the surgery was successful and you are recovering fast.

Take my advice - take it easy for as long as you can!

Instead of cooking you can spend more time positn on here.

That way we may manage to correct some of your dodgy opinions

I've been taking it easy for a week! I'm bored. It's cold outside and I want to cook. I want to bake bread. I want to start turning my empty guest room into my sun room. I want to go Christmas shopping. I want to wear my new boots. Grrrrrrrr.

Television for an hour or two in the evening is ok. Daytime tv is for children and adults with bubble gum between their ears. I don't want 'store bread', I want hot, fresh from the oven, homemade bread.

That's why I'm building a sun room. A friend is painting trees on the walls, and a sky on the ceiling. I'm installing plants and a half a dozen hanging reptile bulbs. Heat, light and full spectrum uv. A lounge chair, Jimmy Buffet on the cd player, and I'm at the beach.

If I can't go to the Caribbean, the Caribbean will come to me!

All your missing is the Margarita's, you like 'em frozen or on the rocks?

I like 'em on the rocks and by the pitcher...... reminds me of my favorite Buffet song

I like them frozen. I want one of those slushy machines you see in quickie stores. Make a gallon and keep them mixed.

Two weeks?

I haven't had one but a friend did a few years back and she was not allowed to drive or go back to work for 6 weeks.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

6 to 8 weeks is the 'normal' recovery time. No freaking way! It's only been a week and I'm already going nuts.

I have a post op checkup in 2 weeks and intend to inform my doctor then that 'I am done'.

While I can curl up with a good book for hours, forced idleness seems to grate on my nerves.

What's the point anyway. It's not like I'm going bungee jumping, or joining a mud wrestling team. I see no reason why I can't do what I feel up to doing, an no damn reason why I need someone with me all the time treating me as if I'm made out of china and will shatter if I move wrong.
