Thumbs down Stop the American Atheists (Petition #2493)
I am in no way against the organization for pushing their thoughts or beliefs, but petition #2493 really irritates me.

The American Atheists is an organization in the U.S. dedicated to defending the civil liberties of atheists and advocating for the complete separation of church and state. (Wikipedia) The organization was founded by Madeline Murray O’Hare who was well known for successfully eliminating the use of Bible reading from public schools.

Petition #2493 would prevent any readings of the gospel on the airwaves of America, along with the banning of all broadcast Sunday worship services on the radio or television. The reason why this irritates me is the fact that many Americans do not have the ability to go to church. My Grandfather loved going to Church, however his Parkinson’s disease became so severe that it was almost impossible for him to go to mass on Sunday’s. He was able to tune into Sunday worship services on his television, enabling him to practice his religion conveniently from home. He enjoyed the visual Church experience as it made him feel as if he were in Church.

I think the American Atheists goal is not to help with the “separation of church and state” but to push their anti-religion movement. We have all this crap on the radio waves and television that SHOULDN’T be on the air (mostly MTV derogatory), yet they complain about Sunday worship services?!? In today’s technology, we can block unwanted channels, or simply move on to the next with our remote control.

A simple question that the American Atheists would not want to be asked is, “Why make it more difficult for those who cannot travel to Church to worship God on Sunday’s??”

"We have all this crap on the radio waves and television that SHOULDN’T be on the air (mostly MTV derogatory),.." - You may want to revisit this thought. --:: The Bill of Rights Institute ::---

"A simple question that the American Atheists would not want to be asked is, “Why make it more difficult for those who cannot travel to Church to worship God on Sunday’s??" - I doubt very much the AA's would shy away from that question.

It has always been my opinion that groups like organized religion and the America Atheists, have more in common than they do not.

The TV has this thing on it that allows for you to not see something you do not want to see.

the on/off switch

If I have to deal with the 4 spanish channels (I don't speak Spanish why should they be on my TV) then the atheists, can deal with church being on TV.

I suggest that we make an all out online appeal to the Atheists in that radical organization. Invite them all to Defending the Truth.

Then we can show them how there is an "IGNORE" button here on the user's control panel.

As it is at the DtT, so it is in the rest of the world ...

OhDear

P.S. And factually speaking RHS, this is so very wrong. It is one thing, when someone is subject to, or gathered at, a public meeting. Then they can play their big OFFENSE card. Cos they are there by necessity. But to have to surf the channels for a different cuppa tea, well...what will become of the internet too? Would these same atheist fundamentapathic folk want to have no religious discussion forums, no websites for believers?
