Fucking Boom!!!!
Geez, that was close (and very loud too). A fucking mortar (or rocket) just went off near the camp. The power is still on at least. Remember, you just heard a near real-time report from Victory Base Camp in Iraq!!

I am very sure that everyone here, even your "antogonists" care very much Pen. And we all are in prayer and sending you energies and big-hearted wishes for your safe return home.

And let's keep Tadpole in those same prayers and thoughts. I sure miss him.

For sure...There's this ahole on another debate site that keeps posting videos of military vehicle getting blown up. I wish I could brush up on my marksmanship on his head.

Well, I'm still in my bloody hooch and the power is still on. Since that happened whilst posting here, I thought I would share it with the board. Bombs, missiles, and mortar rounds are rather loud when the intended target is in your general vicinity. I hope my number isn't up yet.

Damn! No wonder the pay for this job is a bit more than what I'd be earning in the states. Who would have thought?

I was just about to ask you how life is in Iraq right now, PN. You've already answered my question. Wow!!! It is scary indeed.

I'll take my lower sitting-on-my-ass-in-awe-of-you pay any day. Unless I was getting a chance to shoot at some ragheads...I'd like that. I know a guy that just left for USMC basic training to be a foot soldier. I was like "ARE YOU CRAZY???!!!" He said yup. Well then have fun.

Fx, please don't call people "ragheads"...you are demeaning all the people who wear turbans.

And the problem there is much more complex than that, and involves a good many men who sport no headgear.

Well, tomorrow I have a big day ahead of me. I'm finally going to buy a microwave at the PX so I can have a peaceful dinner in my room at nights. The bloody dining facility is very noisy. Also, we've had a recent influx of Ugandian soldiers arrive. They have no fucking manners and will make every effort to get in line in front of you. Goddamn peanut-headed pricks they are. Frightful and quite annoying when you want to have a peaceful meal. I suppose that's a symptom of living in a country where you don't get what you want without pushing others out of the way to get it.

It's great to see you at least trying to understand how those soldiers came to have unacceptable manners. Empathy...
