Wow, that seems a bit showy to really be good parenting, imho.

Hope she can save the relationship. I mean, if it had been me at that age, I would not have ever trusted my mother with another detail of my life and would not have made her the confidante she was/is.

I don't know. I saw them on television. They seemed pretty comfortable together, joking and laughing during the interview.

I can't remember who the interviewer was but the kid said something like, "Oh well, if it hadn't happened, I would not have gotten to come on this trip and see you. It has been pretty exciting."

Seemed to me that, rather than being all traumatized, he was enjoying his 5 minutes of fame somewhat.

Yeah CF, that was the impression I got as well. He looked adopted though since he was Asian looking and she was a heavy set white lady.

I noticed that too. But I know a half Japanese, 5' 8", skinny guy whose Caucasian father is about 6" 4" and weighs in at around 300 lbs. So you never can tell.

That's true, but a white female asian man relationship is about as rare as...well let's just say it's pretty durn rare.

Really? I know of two or three and that is in Alabama. I imagine that in areas with a higher Asian population there are quite a few.

Maybe we ought to look into that...I'd say that is quite a rare combination. I know when I was stationed in Japan, the chances of seeing an asian man with anything but an Asian woman was thin. But the women flocked anywhere there were American men. What sucks is that I hear it's "cool" to be Black in Japan now. I missed that revolution. Damn.
