Blue Cross wants to move a patient
SignOnSanDiego.com > News > North County -- Eveland friends, family protest Blue Cross action

Scotty's team rallies outside of Palomar hospital North County Times - North San Diego and Southwest Riverside County News

What do insurance companies want to do? Cut costs? This fellow suffers a football injury, and Blue Cross wants to move him into a less-skilled environment.

Many years ago Blue Cross screwed my dad when my mother was ill.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

The kid's family doesn't have enough money for Blue Cross to continue any premium treatment he may require. Therefore, he is just another "burden" to be dealt with in the cheapest way possible. The other factor is that San Diego is a very big city with a very large population. This translates to far too many people to deal with who need medical help. This also translates to "there are far too many people for the medical community to give a shit about." Further translation would suggest that if you don't have money you are a worthless piece of shit.

So, why should Blue Cross pay for this young man's treatment? He's just another glob fly on a huge piece of shit.

Which is exactly why for profit insurance companies shouldn't be deciding what care people "need".

Do you think the government run health plan is gonna just be a blank check? I'm sure cost control measures will be in place there too. Nothing is "free".

I didn't say anything was free. Profits shouldn't come before someone's life or health.

Sounds nice. But the government makes those decisions too. As PN would say, no one cares about the poor people. Not even the government unless it's election time.

Until they are denied treatment by their insurance company for a necessary procedure or medication, because an insurance company is trying to increase profits.

Or because there is little guaratee the procedure will work, or they are over their cost cap, or etc. All procedures aren't covered by medicaid nor do all facilities take medicaid.
