Elect Obama?? Ok now let's get serious
OK America has had it's brief fling with the soaring rhetoric and slick campaigning of Obama, but now it's time to get serious.

What has Obama ever done?
What has he achieved?
What has he run?
What has he built?
Where's his track record?

Is America really about to elect a guy who has a blank resume but looks good in a suit and delivers good speeches?

We know Americans are gullible but this is too important.

And what's all this about change - change from what and to what?

Why should anyone believe Obama can make it happen?

Face it - Obama's entire campaign is built on fluff.

A valid point, Gary-except for one thing. Substitute Hillary Clinton's name in your questions and compare your answers.
I see one different answer: Hillary is married to Bill Clinton. Wait- I see a question you forgot to ask:why does Hillary admit to the folly of the war in Iraq? But she supported it, while Obama did not!
Other than that, do you see any differences between the two beside the fact that Hillary is fast losing her support, while Obama is gaining more and more? Can you offer an explanation for this; other than you think that Americans are gullible; and Obama' campaign is "fluff"?

Yes, she does have one of the most gifted politicians as a personal mentor (as did GW Bush). Who will Obama call for advice - Oprah??

And she was First Lady for 8 years. And an active First Lady who participated instead of just baking cookies. So she knows how it all works first hand.

Wait- I see a question you forgot to ask:why does Hillary admit to the folly of the war in Iraq? But she supported it, while Obama did not!

She supported letting Bush decide, and admits that was a mistake.

No matter who gets elected we will be in Iraq for a long time yet.

I'll stick with that explanation. Can you offer any other?

Well let's see, Obama's experience entailed some local experience, a few years in the Illinois state legislature, a few years in law, and two years in Congress. When was the last time we elected a President with the same credentials? Oh yeah, now I remember, Abraham Lincoln.

And when was the last time we elected a President with experience, and with a cabinet full of years of top military and foreign affairs (and war time) experience? Oh yeah, George Bush.

The point is that inexperience doesn't necessarily mean the person in question is unqualified for the job, or even that all the experience in the world means that the person is qualified.

A similar argument runs that if you give three monkeys a typewriter each they will eventually write the works of Shakespeare.

I'm pretty sure it's an infinite but I don't see a problem with lack of experience. I'm curious to see the average income level pre-elected of senators, governors, etc. I don't live in America so does anyone know of a governor or senator who was middle-income or poor before being elected?

Was he? University of Arkansas Law Professor, Yeah, I guess that's lower income than the usual "head of massive company X".

Father killed before he was born, raised by a single mum in modest home, won Rhodes scholarship to Oxford, became two term President of the USA, made millions from books and public speaking.

Whether you love him or hate him Clinton epitomises the American Dream.

Exactly, Katz. Experience can have different meaning according to one's agenda, Gary. But I'll go with mine- who has the experience to be President? Niether Obama or Clinton. Why? Because neither has served as President. It's that plain and simple to me. As is Hillary's need to stop kicking this dead dog. It's not barking; as evidenced tonight and the last 8 primaries. She needs a new script to follow.
