| This one is for Bret Favre, cheers In light of Brets resent retirement speech, Id just like to give him credit for what he has contrubuted to the NFL. He is a warrior, and a gentlemen. Bret Favre IS the NFL. I wish him nothing but the best, a true class act. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Grace, here is something we can agree upon! I am originally from Green Bay, and I can tell you that I never cared about the team when I was growing up there in the 70s and 80s. (Both because they were no good, and I didn't really care much for sports.) It was only when Brett came to town that I started to care about my hometown team (even though by that time, I had moved to the middle of Bears territory.) I will miss him dearly, and I thank him for bringing me many years of Packer joy. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| I got to see Brett a few times in San Diego, including the 1998 Super Bowl. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Yeah, I have to agree with everyone here. I'm a diehard Patriots fan, but anyone who doesn't admire and respect Brett Favre just isn't an NFL fan, imo. He has had a great career and will be a first ballot Hall of Famer. I wish him well in his retirement. Btw, his press conference the other day got me all choked up. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| That's a rather ignorant question, Gary. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 | |||||||||||||||||||||

| To say the least. I hate this "men don't cry" foolishness. He was overwhelmed with emotion about leaving the game and it all came out in his press conference. I admire that he stayed behind the microphone and continued his speech despite his tears. Hell, I got choked up watching him. The same thing happened with me a few years ago in that game where Favre played right after his father passed away. He had the game of his life that night and as he came off the field, tears were streaming down his face. I'm not sure if there was a dry eye in Lambeau that evening. I know there wasn't in my house. Sports and life's inevitable influences sometimes collide and generate tremendous emotion. It's something we should celebrate, male or female, not ridicule. | |||||||||||||||||||||
