garysher the "cut price" before 4pm tickets don't count..only people who have time to waste or have nothing better to do pay that

In LA on average the cinema is $12-14

WestSide LA and the Beverly Hills/Bel Air/Hollywood areas as well as Silverlake/Los Feliz $12-14 dollars..the $14 dollar ones are the ArcLight and LandMark where you don't get ads just previews and they have assigned seating (you get to choose your seat) ..and I spend alot of time in the South Bay my in laws are in Manhattan Beach and I've never paid $10.75 there either so you lucked out.. I like to take my Mother in Law to the movies then we see her but don't actually have to speak to her..its the best of both worlds

However you can go to a Laemmle ArtHouse Cinema Chain or $10 which is btw the film we were talking about played..Laemmle Sunset 5..and they don't have a Theater in the South Bay area because you guys are a bunch of rednecks who don't go to ArtHouse Cinema

There is a theater in Santa Ana which is $1.75...

don't test my movie going knowledge...

Maybe those cinemas charge you extra because you're such a pain in the arse, as your MiL would testify.

And you obviously have a lot of spare time to tool around watching films - that's the benefit of being unemployed (and unemployable) I suppose.

All the cinemas in the south bay of LA charge $10.75, but I'm interested to know how that compares with the rest of the country so shaddup and let others contribute.

That must be an old movie theatre in Santa Ana, one which has a large screen. There's only one kind like that in San Diego County, and that would be the Star Theatre in Oceanside.

Oh, about the same as it is in Los Angeles. I don't go out to movies that much. When I do, it is usually at the bargain matinee on Saturdays. Even that is around $6.00 to $8.00.

The last time I ever paid less than a dollar at any movie theatre was at a theatre near Birmingham, Alabama in 1982. I was with some friends who had some children and we all watched "E.T". Talk about a tear jerker for kids. The movie cost only fifty cents to watch in a pretty-good multi-plex theatre to watch.

You know what the funny part is about paying extra for reserved seating? That great big fat guy still ends up sitting in front of you. Now, isn't that funny?

Its true LA is such a rip off

Its never funny when some fat guy sits in front of you especially when you've paid extra. How wrong is your life when you've roles of neck fat and can't see your wanger when you go pee. Is there not some point you go I am one fat Bubba of a man and I need to exercise and eat less?? Anyway that aside...

I pay extra so I don't have to see that 20 min show of ads (whatever they call it..sometimes its called the 20) before the promos start. Its well worth it.
