Eh.

It's not like a majority of soldiers are doing this. It happens in every war, they aren't ordered to do this, these are the same people that would beat someone up if they didn't join the army. We did in Germany in 1946, Japan, the Philippians, Cuba. Other countries did it, Britian in Transvaal, France in Egypt, Russia in Afghanistan, the list goes on. It's not evil done by the government of the nation, it is evil done by the individual.

You're absolutely right that this happens in every war, and the stuff that was shown in that video is nothing compared to what goes down. But the fact that the Bush administration is oblivious to this and stuck in their idealistic fantasy of the "armies of compassion" (to quote Bush) spreading democracy pixie dust I think is a testament to the true guilty party.

Clearly, if someone knocked over your elaborate creation of dominoes prematurely, you wouldn't blame the individual dominoes; the natural response is to blame the person that started the sequence, as they should clearly have seen what was coming.

And the examples used are also pretty poor in the making of your point. Many of those countries (including our own) in those examples exercised atrocities in an organized fashion that goes straight up the chain of command.

I wonder that when men and women sign up to be recruits, or when they appointed to the service academies, if they go through a mental health screening as well as a physical, to see if they are fit to serve, especially in wars.

Vietnam was a problem. I can't recall if there ever was any more psychological problems the soldiers suffered during WWII compared to the Vietnam and Iraq wars.

Indeed, the problem should be addressed.

Then you didn't understand my point. I was saying that America isn't the perfect 'always-fight-for-freedom' nation that everyone makes it out to be. We have just as many vices as everyone else.

The incidence of 'battle fatigue' in WWII was hundreds of times higher than Vietnam, proportionally, not just straight up numbers. Modern soldiers talk about their fights more than past generations, and some of the Vietnam crazies were mental hospital patients who were let go when their hospitals were closed down.
