Thanks Joe I did look at his taxes before even asking the question and I looked in the schedules which doesn't list any specific Katrina relief fund it
its just he keeps using Katrina victims and the whole thing as a deserved dig at the current govt, and anyone who doesn't think they mismanaged the entire thing is well not up on current events, and said the event gave him even more political zeal then he had before, it is a motivating factor and something he cares about deeply
so I wondered if he put money where his mouth is and looked and couldn't find anything specifically listed there is a Misc Recognized Charities....for somone who made about $2mil in 2005 and even less in 2006 he gave very little to the Misc category, I guess I am sort of surprised to see he probably gave less then I did but has been suing th event for political expediency, I'm sort of disappointed....I need actions to back up words when someone keeps riding the high horse like he does...
and as he has stated that we need to deal with poverty here and abroad I assumed he'd given to some specific Tsunami Organisation...the NGO he contributed to does deal with poverty but its not Tsunami specific so this maybe my answer
I found both these events to show the true torture of poverty and the human cost..I'd have sent my self broke but for my wife holding me back...
I guess I'm never going to know the answer, unless someone actually asks him, which they more then likely won't happen, unless someone can convince a journo to do it....which won't happen because Obama's answer will be thats divisive and not the new language of hope (which when he is talking too non African Americans is Obamaspeak for racist as far as I can tell, not that we should just throw that term around or anything we''ll cleverly hide it in the term divisive, unless of course we can get an African American to ask him then it won't be divisive it'll be none of our business and look at all the legislation I have supported). I may have to resolve myself to never knowing but it just makes me not trust the guy even more.
maybe people just don't care about these events and the human cost as much as I do.
