================= Hillary Clinton talks rights for gay couples on Ellen DeGeneres show
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Friday, April 4th 2008, 11:11 AM
WASHINGTON - Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton told Ellen DeGeneres that she will work to ensure that same-sex couples such as the talk show host and her partner Portia de Rossi are treated fairly.
"I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that people like you and Portia and others have a chance to have, you know, rights to be able to go to the hospital, to inherit property, to make sure that you can list somebody as a beneficiary on an insurance policy," Clinton said in an interview to air Monday on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"That's all we want is to be fair," DeGeneres responded. "I like it. I like it."
Clinton has said she would defend gay rights as president and eliminate disparities for same-sex couples in federal law, including immigration and tax policy. |

I think a solid next step is ANY sort of federal level recognition, so I applaud Hillary and Barack. |

What is it you want to know that you DON'T would be a better question.

I support equal rights for everyone not just gay people, but marriage, which is the ultimate goal for the "gay rights" movement, is out of the question. At least to me and those that I discuss this with.

I knew people who thought that Negroes shouldn't be slaves or beaten or anything.
But, they sure as hell didn't want them sitting in a clean classroom with nice white children.
Support for others often comes up short of equality.
nothing new

nothing new | The difference between that and the subject at hand is that "people" though the negroes needed beating. Whereas a homosexuals own mother would beat the crap out of her offspring if she thought he/she was gay. That is quite a huge difference.
Wanna talk about someone not wanting someone sitting somewhere, I bet a lot of women wouldn't want a gay child taking up uterine space where a hetero child belongs.
A slave owner discriminating against someone he thinks is livestock is one concept, but a parent kicking his own child out of the home in disgust is quite another.
Equality for some people is just denial of an inherent aberration for another.
You wanna play the analogy game? We can play.

I do know enough about Obama (and Clinton and McCain) to make an intelligent decision on whether or not to support him.
