"The fair question is, if you can't win the states we have to win in the fall, maybe that says something about your general-election appeal," she said.
IS it a fair question?
In the fall, Obama won't be running against Clinton, but against McCain.

It's disingenuous to say that the Clinton v Obama results in Penn. have any bearing on the likely Obama v McCain results (or for that matter, the likely Clinton v McCain results) in Penn. in the fall.

Let's say Clinton is Pepsi and Obama is Coke.
That was yesterday's primary election. Coke v Pepsi.

You are an avid cola drinker, and you prefer Pepsi.
And Pepsi won yesterday.

Now, it's fall, and Obama (Coke) got the nomination.
So now, the choice is between Coke and McCain, represented by, oh, hot coffee.
Remember, you are an avid cola drinker.

Are you REALLY likely to pick coffee over your second-favorite brand of cola?

Despite your cute little soft drinks analogy the fact is that Obama is seen as far more "liberal" than Clinton, by many democrats.

If Obama is the nominee McCain has a good chance to lure away many middle-of-the-road and "conservative" democrats, especially if he picks somebody like Lieberman as his running mate.

I think Hillary would make a better President. It's time for the US to catch up to more progressive countries like Pakistan, Turkey and Britain by putting a woman in charge.

I don't drink Pepsi, though. I prefer Coca-Cola instead, even though I am a registered hot-coffee drinker.

The question is, who would really run the country if Hillary is president? Bill, I think.

If it were the USA and the Soviet Union in the early 1960's, and it was Hillary and Khrushchev at the table, Khrushchev would make mincemeat out of Hillary the way Khrushchev did it with JFK. Hillary could not do any better with Pakistan, Turkey, and Britain.

The point is that women can bring a fresh new perspective to problems which men might miss completely because they are too busy being men.

Oh, you can probably register at any restaurant or places that sells those beverage. Maybe you'd want to register at a Starbucks if you are only a hot-coffee drinker.

I do agree about seeing a woman at the top. Maggie Thatcher brings to mind a very effective leader.

That is a fact. I agree, the country is ready for a female president.

I simply question whether THIS woman should be president.

If she is the nominee, I will certainly vote for her over McCain or even over Republican X, but she is not my first choice.

I appreciate you calling me cute (sorry, I'm off the market!), but I question your stance on Obama being seen as "far more liberal" than Clinton.

A bit more liberal? Perhaps.

FAR more liberal? I think I would need to see a direct comparison of key policy stances before I would agree to that.

That'll get no argument from me.

Right. So what if he didn't the biggest states? States like CA, NY, and NJ are true blue, wouldn't matter who won them in the primaries
, the Democrat nominee is very, very likely to win those states in the general election. Conversely, Texas is a Republican stronghold right now, so what if Hillary won it in the primary (She lost the caucus BTW)? McCain is likely to handily take it in November.

Let's say Clinton is Pepsi and Obama is Coke.

Odd since I do prefer Coke over Pepsi.

But whilst I hate coffee, I don't hate John McCain.

But you do raise a good point, the polls right now indicate that a good chunk of Obama/Clinton supporters will either switch over to McCain or abstain if their preferred candidate loses. However, when the dust has settled though and there is a nominee, will they REALLY vote against their own party and their own principles?

I honestly can't see so many people jumping ship, especially since Obama and Clinton really aren't that different in their views.
