Nuclear power?
Check out the very interesting article Tadpole posted not too long ago.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

My my, how times have changed.

20 years ago everything nuclear was the Great Satan. Now it's the Great Savior.

Renewable energy MUST become more and more primary.

It's getting way more reasonable price wise to go this way!

This is just one company offering, it's the cheapest I've found so far, but always looking!

I think nuclear power is a good idea, as long as we do it right.

I think anything with a half-life of 10,000 years is a little too scary to mess with. Go hydro, solar, & wind-power. They're free non-polluting renewable resources and we don't have to worry about disgruntled nations claiming that they're using nuclear energy for electricity and then turn around and build weapons. We need global solutions not more global problems.
Our Task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, the whole of nature, and its beauty.

I have known people who bought a type of solar panels, and ended up spending three times their electric bill on the things, and they didn`t power all of the homes appliances. I dont approve of solar power as a primary power source, possibly a secondary source.

This is true - at least partially.

My uncle, a retired AirForce Leut. Colonel and nuclear engineer, built a whole solar heating system on his attached garage.

He figured out that a 60 degree angle would be optimal for "collecting" solar power, so he built his rafters at that angle, and made the whole south side of his roof a solar panel. The air that was heated in the panel was piped under the garage floor, into a 12' x 12' "box" that was filled with 2" rocks. After a sunny winter day, he could heat their house almost all night off of the hot stones.

I love that kind of creativity! I'm sure the system more than paid for itself (he did all the work himself) in a very short period of time.

I`m talking about solar energy from a power standpoint, the average american house would have to have hundreds of thousands of dollars in solar panels to power their everyday appliances making a money saver a cash cow.

This is true. Wind generated energy is a better alternative for this.

But I'm thinking about the impact this could have on the cost of home heating - and the use of natural gas, electricity and heating oil. If we could cut that by even 20% it would be a huge step in the right direction.
