| Critics Hate The DaVinci Code So... the critics hate it. And if it weren't for the Catholic Church kicking up such a ruckus, most people would probably ignore it. So here's my question about the MOVIE - The DaVinci Code. 1. Is it just a bad film? 2. Is it just not able to measure up to what people imagined when they read the novel? Personally, I thought the novel was a GREAT read - as are the other Dan Brown novels (I think Angels & Demons is actually better than DaVinci). I plan to see the movie, but possibly not until it comes out on DVD. Your thoughts? | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Since the movie isn't out until Friday I really can't comment on it. But I think Hanks was a TERRIBLE choice for the roll. The book was entertaining though. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Somehow, as I was reading the book, I kept picturing Harrison Ford as Robert Langdon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| I don't read novels but my wife does and so I will tag along to the movie. It's just more hollywood crap to me. The last really good movie I saw was "In the Bedroom" with Sissy Spacek. Now that girl is an actress. | |||||||||||||||||||||

I've been trying to think who would have been better than Hanks. Harrison Ford is a great suggestion.... he would have made a much better fit. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. | I thought the book had poor character development and the claims to factuality were laughable. As for the movie... I can tell just from looking at pictures that Audrey Tatou and Tom Hanks have no chemistry. Hanks- He has a lumpy, oddly shaped head. Tatou- Total hottie. I mean seriously, look at this! ![]() Hot! ![]() Not. Oh, and in Philadelphia, Antonio Banderas totally could have done better. Last edited by Dylan; 05-21-2006 at 06:58 PM. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| I want to see it, but I think I'll be waiting until it's on DVD too.
