X Japan!
Has anyone heard of them? Talking about it in one of the other threads made me want to post some of their music. One of my favorite bands of all time. Tell me what you think!

Silent Jealosy (One of my fav. guitar solos, X Japan has a lot of wounderful ones)

But of coarse X Japan is at its best when playing their Ballads.

Endless Rain

Say Anything

Art of Life (Song is over 30 minutes!)

They were probably one of the most popular bands in Japanese rock history. Unfortunately not too many Americans know about them. I guess they were done with quality rock and were into the mindless fluff on MTV by the 90's.

Also, why was intangiblechild's music thread locked for no reason?

I really hate 80's metal... so no. Sorry, not my cup of tea.

I definitely like X Japan, but then again, I've been known to like quite a bit of Japanese rock. I should post some music from other Japanese rock bands.

They sure have the 80's metal look down. It sounds pretty similar as well... maybe a little more punky.

Its far from punk too. But I can see where you would get that if you listened to their music from the 80's. Then you're totally right. But they're pretty much alternative rock in the 90's, and that's when they were known as "X Japan". They were just "X", until they found out that some horrible punk band in California was named "X", and I guess the Californians were popular enough that the Japanese band decided to change the name to "X Japan".

But the first song is pretty fast...but if you listen to their ballads (which they're mostly famous for), then you'll see what I'm talking about.
