BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S.-led forces turned over control of Iraq's military command to the Shiite-led government Thursday, a key step toward the eventual withdrawal of foreign troops.

That would have been nice. Unfortunately, we have an enemy who will not cooperate. It took a few years to get the Germans to behave after WWII ended also.

They will come home when Iraq's own forces can take control of their own affairs with limited bloodshed. Until then we will be there to stay the course.

My only worry is if the Iraqi forces will fight against the insugents or with them once we leave.
