| Ann Coulter Needs a Geography Lesson Ann Coulter makes her living saying outrageous things, but she ventured Thursday (April 20, 2006) into the territory of stupid, as opposed to outrageous, with her appearance on Fox News' "Dayside," when she claimed that illegal immigrants routinely run nearly 130 miles in order to give birth. Coulter was debating her "plan" to have illegal immigrants build a wall (the Great Wall of Coulter) along the U.S.-Mexican border to keep themselves out (and us in?) Her opponent was Susan Estrich, a sometime progressive strategist and regular Fox News guest. Coulter says what she's been saying for several weeks now, that the U.S. is a country, not a department store, and its citizens ought to have a say in who gets to come in and stay. Then she added this gem: "Eighty percent of the babies being born at the Los Angeles Public Hospital were from illegal aliens running across the border right as they are about to give birth. Their children immediately become citizens and they get to stay. This isn't the way we should be choosing citizens," she said. Whoa there, Coulter. Los Angeles is some 129.54 miles, give or take a Mapquest hiccup, from the U.S.-Mexican border crossing at San Ysidro/Tijuana. The driving time is 2 hours, 10 minutes and 21 seconds. I am not a runner, but I'm in decent shape for my age, and I walk at a four-mile-an-hour pace on level ground. Assuming a woman "right as they are about to give birth" can keep that same pace, she would need 32.38 hours to "run" from the border to Los Angeles. News Hounds: Ann Coulter Needs a Geography Lesson How much do you in Freudian want this ????????????? ![]() Live the Light, Give the Light, Bring Heaven to Earth Every Day! I am not a human being having a spiritual experience, I am a spiritual being having a human experience. The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." | This is a STUPID thread - and even you ought to know it. First of all, the article is 6 months old. Second, every idiot knows that when I use a "figure of speech" and say something like, "I'm going to run to the grocery store" I do NOT mean that I'm going to strap on my New Balance shoes and go for a jog. I mean that I'm going to go to the grocery store by whatever means of transportation I choose. Third, there's a growing sentiment in the United States that is demanding EXACTLY what Coulter suggested - A WALL ALONG THE BORDER. Is Ms Coulter a prophet? Fourth, if we can't keep illegal immigrants OUT, we need to change the law concerning their children - being born in America - automatically being American citizens. That's an EASY change to make, and it would make all the difference in the world. NON-ISSUE. STUPID THREAD. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Find all the illegals here in America and have them build the wall. If they want to stay in America, they have to help build the wall. That is the funniest and best thing I have ever heard! | |

| That's her. She's a comedian with a point and the left doesn't get it. She's Al Franken in drag. Last edited by alias; 09-20-2006 at 11:37 AM. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Anthony Stabile: Tommy no, You got it all wrong. Tommy DeVito: Oh, oh, Anthony. He's a big boy, he knows what he said. What did ya say? Funny how? Henry Hill: Jus... Tommy DeVito: What? Henry Hill: Just... ya know... you're funny. Tommy DeVito: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little <censored> up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to <censored> amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny? Henry Hill: Just... you know, how you tell the story, what? Tommy DeVito: No, no, I don't know, you said it. How do I know? You said I'm funny. How the <censored> am I funny, what the <censored> is so funny about me? Tell me, tell me what's funny! Henry Hill: [long pause] Get the <censored> out of here, Tommy! Tommy DeVito: [everyone laughs] Ya motherfucker! I almost had him, I almost had him. Ya stuttering prick ya. Frankie, was he shaking? I wonder about you sometimes, Henry. You may fold under questioning. So Ann Coulter is a "comedian" now. Funny how I don't ever see her make people laugh. Or maybe you mean she's a comedian because she takes things, and twists them into a mockery of reality for effect? Except she tries to pass her crap off as real and truthful... Yeah. I could be a "comedian" like Ann Coulter. I could talk about how Christians believe in cannibalism, and the religious right pray to George Bush, and how Republicans are racist for their slow response to Katrina... Yeah. That's just freakin' hilarious! You see, you and I are a lot alike, strange as that may seem. I mean not physically or even mentally really, just well, maybe emotionally or actually the hand we've been dealt in life. We're different. People see us as being different anyway. You're -- well you have your affliction or whatever and I, well mine's not as easy to see. I'm just going to say it. I'm gay. (watts) Does that surprise you? (watts) That I'm gay. You know what being gay is, don't you? KARL I reckon not. VAUGHAN Homosexual. I like men. Sexually. KARL Not funny, ha, ha, funny queer. VAUGHAN Well that's a very offensive way to put it. You shouldn't say that. You were taught that, weren't you? KARL I've heard it said that way. Now that is funny. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Christians and the sacrament of the "Last Supper". They have varying beliefs about the passage where Jesus said "This is my body" / "This is my blood", and then passes it to them to eat. Some sects actually believe it IS his "body" and "blood". Ergo, a link to cannibalism. "the religious right pray to George Bush". Did you see that video? Or is it just something you disregarded without even looking at? "Republicans are racist for their slow response to Katrina" There was a slow response to Katrina with Republican holding power in the White House and Congress. The reason why can be debated. Claiming there is no "truth" is just plain blindly disregarding the issue. These have about as much, if not more, of a tenuous grasp on "truth" as Ann Coulter's statements... And like Ann Coulter's statements, there is no "comedic" value to them at all... I don't believe the religious right "prays" to Bush. I was making an ANALOGY between the absolutely STUPID statements that Ann Coulter makes by twisting reality, and SIMILARLY absolutely STUPID statements that I could make about the other side of the fence. Pay attention. Quote:

I believe it's usually sold in the "politics" section. Not the "humor" section. I guess it's better than taking the inane crap she says seriously...
