Actually, I think the idea of bringing the vaccinators to the people is a great idea - the hospital where I work does this for employees by setting up flu shot clinics in the cafeteria. Ideally these "Vote and Vaccinate" clinics would be at all polling places, and would all be the same cost to all. One should not need to vote to get the shot. The impetus behind them is to vaccinate those who need the vaccine, not to influence the vote. See Vote and Vaccinate for the website on the project. They first did these clinics in 2004 in 60 polling places in these states:
Florida: Pasco County Health Department (ID# 051979).
Iowa: Worth County Public Health Department (ID# 051981).
Kansas: Marshall County Health Department (ID# 051977).
Louisiana: Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (ID# 051982).
Maine: State of Maine Public Health Nursing Program (ID# 051975).
Massachusetts: Boston Public Health Commission (ID# 051985).
Missouri: St. Louis County Department of Health (ID# 051987).
Montana: Custer County Health Department (ID# 051989).
New York: Niagara County Health Department (ID# 051976).
Pennsylvania: Erie County Department of Health (ID# 051984).
South Dakota: Indian Health Service Pine Ridge (ID# 051980).
Utah: Utah Department of Health (ID# 051988 ).

Why were they only offering the vaccinations in Hispanic and Black districts - two races of people who almost always vote exclusively Democrat?

I think you and I both know why...

I didn't go through all of them. (Some were pretty vague.)
Four of the Five here have minority statistics LOWER than the national average. Contrary to your claim...

Are you ever going to stop speaking out your arse and being proven wrong Jefferson?

St Louis County, Missouri:
73.5% white, not hispanic
20.8% black
1.7% hispanic
St. Louis County QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau

Niagara County, New York:
89.5% white, not hispanic
6.5% black
1.5% hispanic
Niagara County QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau

Erie County, Pennsylvania:
89.3% white, not hispanic
6.5% black
2.4% hispanic
Erie County QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau

So, of the specific ones that didn't just list a general "state" identifier, that makes 2 out of 8 that had a higher than national average percentage of blacks or hispanics.
The other 6 out of 8 had a higher than national average percentage of whites...

Did you even read the whole article, Jefferson? Look:
Quote:
Before launching the program, Williams' staff consulted with Republican Harris County Clerk Beverly Kaufman, the county's top election official, who offered support provided that the initiative complied with applicable laws.

Kaufman's spokesman, David Beirne, said erroneous media reports might have fueled the perception that voting was related to receiving something of value, which could violate the law. "It's not tied to the voting practice, which is a critical element," he said. "We did not see anything on its face to indicate that it would be a clear violation of election law."

Scott Haywood, a spokesman for Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams, also a Republican, said in an e-mail that "there is nothing wrong with a health clinic being located at the same site that voting is taking place," provided that people weren't required to vote to get the service.

Stephen Williams, the city health chief, and White said the terms of the Amerigroup grant required a tie to polling places in medically underserved areas where populations are less likely to get vaccinations.
They targetted the areas they did because the population there is less likely to get the dang vaccine! <rolls eyes>

Honestly, maybe it would be better to tie it to something else that happens around this time, like Halloween, a pagan holiday.

Take your ire and give it to Robert Wood Johnson's (of Johnson & Johnson fame) Foundation , the group funding the free vaccinations. You note that I suggested that the vaccine should be the same cost for all, and offered at all polling places.

Grumble, grumble, grumble......<walks off shaking head>

WHY DID THEY CONNECT IT WITH VOTING?

Answer that, and you've answered everything.

Save all your irrelevant crap, and answer one question:

What party do blacks overwhelmingly vote for?

Then you have the obvious conclusion: Luring blacks to vote, by offering free vaccinations to voters, is a HUGE boon to which political party?

You CANNOT be so stupid as to not know the answer to that.

YOU claimed: (Jefferson)"Why were they only offering the vaccinations in Hispanic and Black districts..."

I proved that the majority of the districts with the vaccinations were STATISTICALLY HIGHER in white population than the U.S. average.

Ergo, your claim was a dumb lie.

Oh LAWDY yes. Hows could I bees so stupid?
Of course these vaccination offers, in PREDOMINANTLY WHITE AREAS, were just meant to lure the BLACK voters there. Because we all know that the BLACK voters just jump at the offer at free vaccinations...

A little bit of your racist side jumping out in that frustration over being proven a fool?

They are trying to lure the Hispanic and Black voters with free vaccinations.

Hispanic and Black voters typically vote Democrat - OVERWHELMINGLY. You even admit that.

They were NOT targetting the white voters in those districts with the lure of free vaccinations. It even says they were luring black and hispanic voters. Period.

There is nothing racist about saying black voters vote heavily Democrat. It's a fact, and it has nothing to do with racism.

...and for your totally ignorant information, my family lives in a black neighborhood - intentionally. My daughter goes to high school that is 80% black.

Care to talk about racism, white boy?
