Another game craze, oh goody, just what I need to invest my time in. Or maybe not.

Wow, 100 bucks? That's pretty good, I bet they'll all go within a matter of seconds. Who ever has the fastest internet connection should be able to get it. But I'm not interested in the Xbox 360 or the PS3 anyway. One of the main reasons why I don't like console systems is because of the controller interface...they're horrible for first person shooters as compared to the keyboard and mouse interface of a PC, and doubly horrible for strategy games...both of which are my two favorite. That's why Wii will be the only system that sparks my interest. It kind of combines the two interfaces.

But I probably won't be getting anything until this whole craze blows over anyway (probably about 6 months from now when prices drop). I'm not that materialistic...people waiting in line, rioting, shooting people; it's just insane for material.

Also, will there be a limit on which how many a person can purchase? Because this seems like something that some rich bastard with their super T3 internet connection will buy all of them and then sell them later for twice or three times the price.

I think it's quite sick, putting so much value on a game console, or any other must have toy for the holiday season, that people are willing to shoot each other over it or wait in a line for three days. It's out of control, yeah, sure they're fun, but they're toys for ****** sake.

Agreed 100%

With the money you spending buying one of those game consoles, you can build a pretty good computer system with a kick ass graphics card, etc..I agree very much that the controls are limited on game consoles, and more advanced for computer systems.

I'm currently playing Doom3 and it scared the hell out of me on the sound system it is hooked up to right now.

Computer games all the way!

although the kid across the hall from me was playing this boxing game on Xbox360 that looked so realistic. In slow motion, you can see the blood dripping from the guys face, sweat, etc..unbelievable graphics.

Agreed. I've always been a PC game geek. Lan parties and everything. But, although what you say about the graphics is true with the Xbox 360, it's also true that PC's will always be ahead in graphics no matter what. In terms of advanced PC games...the PS3 and Xbox 360 are already ancient history (in terms of just how fast PC technology moves). I mean, the graphics card I have in my system now was probably the second best on the market a few years ago, now it's probably second from the required minimum for most of the newer and higher-end games.

So when it comes to consoles, I think it is smart what Nintendo is doing, I guess they figured out that because consoles will always be behind in graphics, and they don't need any ultra-realistic rendering of Mario or Link anyway, they instead focused on interaction with the game instead of shininess. Nintendo has always been that way; they focus on the enjoyability of their games rather than their graphics.

But another reason why PC gaming is much more beneficial, is that it's totally customizable, and you can spend however much you want. As opposed to a console where there is a fixed price and you have really no choice over the hardware.

Agreed! I mean, I enjoy gaming (mostly PC), but I'm not so materialistic as to put material before life. But I think the height of idiotic materialism was the whole Beanie Baby craze. Remember those lines? I mean, at least the lines for the consoles are for a piece of technology...but the beanie baby craze was even more crazy, and only for these little stuffed animals.

Agreed as well. PC computing is far superior in almost every regard.
Try upgrading your PS2...

Call me a little girl if you want, but I had to stop playing Doom3 tonight. I don't know if any of you play those types of action games, but damn it's scary! Friggin baby monsters jump right in your face, and scratch you or something. They scream too!

You open a door, walk through and right to your left a monster jumps out and hits you. Shits scary!
