| Gas prices and republican views I just saw, on TV news, that gas prices are at an all time record high in my area ($2.36). It reminds me of a view my Dad held about taxes on gas. He said that if you appied just a 10 cent tax per gallon in America, that we could fond pretty much any and all social programs needed. Mind you this is in the day that gas prices were about a buck a gallon. The idea has been proposed in bills a few times in the past and Republicans and truck drivers whined that it would throw our economy into shambles; That it could cause the collapse of our economy basically. Here we are after a 138% increase and yeah, our economy might be in the crapper, but it certainly hasn't collapsed. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- "There is no such thing as laziness.
