Sports cars are great, but how about a 5 or 7 passenger grocery getter for the rest of us? The price will have to come way down before it would make an impact. Us average Joe's don't have $90k to drop on a car.

People DEMAND to have huge gas-guzzling SUVs (they are the highest sellers in the US), so the auto-makers provide them.
It's not about the auto-makers getting their act together. It's about the American people getting their act together.
And by the way, Intangible, why do you refuse to admit to anybody what kind of car you drive? Hypocrisy, by chance?  | |

Think about what it takes to make electricity. Oil, still. You see this is not a solution but more of the same. It is great that it will reduce the need for gasoline, but at the price tag who can afford it???
