Wow, Don't like the price tag

Sports cars are great, but how about a 5 or 7 passenger grocery getter for the rest of us? The price will have to come way down before it would make an impact. Us average Joe's don't have $90k to drop on a car.

My point is that it can be done, if the "big three" would get with it and forget about "our oil" under the Iranian (mid east) period, mass production would bring the price into everyone's grasp and we wouldn't be in Iraq!

The American auto-makers mirror what the American public wants to drive. There's not much more to it than that.

People DEMAND to have huge gas-guzzling SUVs (they are the highest sellers in the US), so the auto-makers provide them.

It's not about the auto-makers getting their act together. It's about the American people getting their act together.

And by the way, Intangible, why do you refuse to admit to anybody what kind of car you drive? Hypocrisy, by chance?

Yikes, I gotta agree on that price tag. In some places you can buy three houses with that kind of money. But they are really good looking vehicles, and hopefully, when the technological novelty wears off, the prices of vehicles like this will drop.

Prius - a Toyota. Foreign ownership.

And you're the guy crying about Outsourcing!

So what kind of van? A domestic gas guzzler?

Just the Beginning
While the Tesla Roadster‘s sticker price is in a league with other high-performance sports cars with similar specs, we recognize it‘s out of reach for a lot of people. We consciously chose to develop a high-end sports car as our first car in order to develop the “performance DNA” from which we could create other electric vehicles. Our next model will leverage the Tesla Roadster‘s technology, resulting in a less expensive sports sedan that we can sell at higher volume.

And, I see the company has plans to build an engineering facility in Michigan, and Governor Granholm is wooing the company to build an assembly plant, too.

Hey it is great that this company has done this? Question does the eliminate the need for oil. Once again the answer is no, why?? Think about what it takes to make electricity. Oil, still. You see this is not a solution but more of the same. It is great that it will reduce the need for gasoline, but at the price tag who can afford it???
