Points: 15,649, Level: 80 | Level up: 81%, 201 Points needed | | Verbal Abuse and Controlling People Last spring I read some very timely and excellent books. One was The Verbally Abusive Relationship and the other was Controlling People. Both are by Patricia Evans. I would highly recommend that everyone read these books. If you are not in a relationship, read them before you are. And if you are married, read them especially. If everything is honky-dory between you and your spouse, then read the books together, why not? These books helped me alot. I recognized certain behaviors and interactions in my own life and relationships with others. Here is a website about verbal abuse, and there is a test that you can avail yourself to at this site too. OD

I asked, but she slapped me really hard and said, "No! No way!" |

But it is not true. You are manly and the restraint you use not to slap a woman back is most honorable and manly. But if anyone of you is in that situation truly, get outside assistance, hold your head up high and know that you are worth being treated with respect and kindness too! OD

OD | Good grief - I am NOT serious! Hence, the smiley face.
I would have thought that that, as well as an over-the top comment would have sufficed.
But I guess if you have to explain a joke it kinda looses its pizazz. Sorry. |

But I felt it a good opportunity to address the need some men might have to realize they are abused and need to get intervention. This is a very real problem in some households and needs to not make any guy feel hopeless. I just took back the topic to a serious tone, after my cartoon did not get a smile or a rise out of ya! OD
