An ice storm - part of an unusually cold winter in the East - cancels a House hearing on how the earth is being plunged into Global Warming.
Now THIS is ironic! And something you will NOT hear about from the Politically Correct Mainstream Media! Only DrudgeReport...
I'll post the body of the article, since it's likely to be dropped soon. Quote:

The closing just might be due to the fact that there is a large snow storm in the north east, hence "canceled after ice storm" in the title...but then again that would kind of take away the point of posting this as 'ironic', so I guess we'll not read that.
Everything's closed here because there is a large coat of ice over everything. You know why? Because it wasn't cold enough to snow...it rained/sleeted on top of old snow and then froze over night.

I have to admit that this is ironic, but it has NOT been an unusually cold winter here in the east. I'm in NY, and it has been unseasonably warm up until very recently. (It was 70 degrees on New Year's Eve.)
Several people that I have spoken to in France and Spain have said that their weather has also been a bit odd this year.

We have not had ANY snow this year yet.

however, it doesn't MEAN anything - it's just an amusingly worded headline

Because the great lakes did not freeze this year. Thats why it is called lake effect snow, as the moisture rises from open water. There is hardly ever lake effect snow in Febuary because the lakes are frozen by now, usually.
As for the the Northeast, I, here in RI have seen 1 inch of snow all year. We are getting the ice storm but got spared the worst of it. It is now raining and the roads aren't that bad.
A usual winter here is nothing like this one. It is definitely warmer than any I remember. Gobal warming is real, no matter what the enviromentalist haters say. I think half of them just like to argue.
This year is real proof of a quickly warming enviroment!

I suppose the next thing you'll be claiming is that the Atlantic Ocean used to freeze over - before Global Warming and all. TEACH Questions & Answers |
