This is probably one of the best pro-choice arguments I have read. This has always been my point... People MUST have the choice. If YOUR religion/ethics/morals tell YOU that abortion is wrong, then YOU should take that into consideration when YOU make YOUR decision, but don't force someone elses decision based off of YOUR beliefs. Beliefs are not universal truths. The only universal truth I have ever known is that the path of loving-kindness is the best choice.

Then I guess if I feel I MUST kill my neighbor, because he is an inconvenience to me, that should be legal.

If your religion tells you that sort of thing is wrong, then don't do it.

But hey - I MUST have that choice!

I agree totally. And though I would say I am much more pro-life, I find that the stand by organization has greatly wronged women.

So though I believe in the value of life before birth, I find that those who voice it the loudest, tend to overlook the value of the woman who is carrying that life.

Even at this forum, those who wrote most extensively against abortion also wrote with judgment and a lack of compassion for the woman.

Ah, but your logic is flawed...

That's where we start to deal with legality not morality. The problem with killing someone is that you are impeding on their civil rights, and civil liberties. A fetus, not being a person or a citizen yet has neither.

First of all, ALL legality is based on some sort of morality.
Second, you're saying it's okay to kill an unborn baby, simply because you've convinced yourself it isn't a person.


But you are medically, ethically and morally wrong. An unborn baby is just as much a human as you and I are.

A paradox, if I ever heard one.

I believe that even lettuce has sensient life, Jefferson. It is against my moral standing that you eat it.
