WASHINGTON — More people in the world would live if Vice President Dick Cheney died, political commentator Bill Maher said, raising few eyebrows despite suggesting the death of the U.S. vice president would be a good thing.

Now I think this is just out of the line here...Yeah I'll watch the unfair Bill Maher show for a laugh, but this quote really disturbed me. What do you think?

Leave it to Fox to make this an issue. It's a comedy show on HBO; believe me, he's said worse things than this.

Ann Coulter does dirty name-calling for the sake of her anger....this comment isn't equivalent to that.

The comment actually has a lot of truth to it anyway.

this is kind of funny seemings how no charges were brought up on chaney in the first place for shooting his friend. And dont even try to say its ause hes vice president, that shouldn't make a difference and laws SHOULD apply to everyone or what good is our systeme of government where they only apply to the few.

in Cheney's defense (and this hurts me, trust me), even the VICTIM said it was unquestionably an accident.

I don't think you can charge a person with assault if there is no victim to validate it.

I think he's much funnier, but definitely not smarter. Ann Coulter absolutely brilliant as she spills out all the facts from her head into the debate. She remembers numbers, years, and even days of events that took place in this world to her defense.

In a debate between Bill Maher and Ann Coulter, Coulter would tear him apart!

Only if he was being polite.

I still remember when she said that the widows of the WTC were harpies and (I think it was) bitches because they used their 'celebrity' to speak out against Bush. I don't know why NOBODY ever asked if the widows who used their celebrity to campaign for Bush in the last election were also harpies and bitches.

It's amazing - considering what a pig she is - how people don't REALLY get down in the mud with her. When one person fights nasty and the other person fights civilly, usually the nasty one will win.

What Maher said is probably true, but he should know stuff like that equates to a severe insult.

Coulter really seems like she looks for trouble. She's not that intelligent, just a worthless demagogue who says controversial things and makes a career out of it. Nobody can seriously believe many of her statements.

Ann ain't as smart as you think:

Coulter: "Canada used to be one of our most loyal friends and vice-versa. I mean Canada sent troops to Vietnam - was Vietnam less containable and more of a threat than Saddam Hussein?"
McKeown interrupts: "Canada didn't send troops to Vietnam."
Coulter: "I don't think that's right."
McKeown: "Canada did not send troops to Vietnam."
Coulter (looking desperate): "Indochina?"
McKeown: "Uh no. Canada ...second World War of course. Korea. Yes. Vietnam No."
Coulter: "I think you're wrong."
McKeown: "No, took a pass on Vietnam."
Coulter: "I think you're wrong."
McKeown: "No, Australia was there, not Canada."
Coulter: "I think Canada sent troops."
McKeown: "No."
Coulter: "Well. I'll get back to you on that."

McKeown tags out in script:
"Coulter never got back to us -- but for the record, like Iraq, Canada sent no troops to Vietnam."
