| back up programs I need your advice on this one. I am looking for a back up program that with one click would back up any new or updated data in selected folders or drives. Anyone have any experience with such a program? I need some recommendations. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- "There is no such thing as laziness. | On windows I am assuming? At work we use UltraBac, but that's intended for a large enterprise network and it costs a fortune... | Thanks for the replies guys. I am on a WinXP system and I already have a few external drives that I want to use (not a maxtor 1 touch one). I am backing up a wide range of file types about 150-200 GB worth. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- "There is no such thing as laziness. Laziness is only lack of incentive." | Internal hard drives are pretty cheap these days...Could go with different RAID levels to mirror your files. Lot's of small businesses do that in case a hard drive fails. | |

| He would need a raid controller if his mobo does not already support RAID RAID array would have to set up from scratch, you can't just throw another hard drive in and mirror it. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, there is just more to it and starting over with identical drives and a fresh install of the operating system of your choice is the best way to do it. Then of course there is which flavor of RAID ...... 0+1, 1+0, 5, 5+0 and the type of drives IDE (PATA or SATA) SCSI and the many flavors of them.
