Frankly, I don't understand why we have to print voting ballots in various languages. The only people who can vote are citizens - and the test given to citizenship applicants is in English. People who can't speak English are not eligible to vote here anyway.

I hate that I agree with Gingrich about anything.

Is it true the test has to be taken in English?

Estudia para el examen de la ciudadania.

I wonder how many Americans could pass their own citizenship test?

I've never taken it. But I suspect, sadly, that I know a lot more about the US, its brief history and the workings of the US government than most Americans.

Certainly more than you.

I took the test, the only question I missed was

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

I thought that it was required that they provide the choice for the individual to take the citizen test in the native language of the individual.

I took it on the msnbc link, and got all of them right. Is that all there is to it?

Newt is your very typical Republican Dumb Ass. The U.S. Constitution clearly states that all U.S. Citizens should have the capacity to vote. In times past I am sure there were many U.S. citizens who were illiterate. I am sure at voting stations these people were given assistance in voting. This can be done today relatively easily.

I missed one as well. (the ONLY one)

Embarrassingly enough, it was the question on the original states.

I don't think that citizenship tests should be offered in any language besides English.

If you are going to be a citizen, you should speak the language.
