An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We're wasting an awful lot of money. Besides, people should have a right to do as they choose with their bodies, even if it is self-harm. People have a right to be stupid.
Personally, I have never done drugs, nor do I ever plan on doing drugs. I don't smoke, I don't drink, etc. The closest I get to drugs is my morning cup of caffeinated green tea. I just feel like the American government is wasting our tax money on something that's going to happen, regardless, especially when there are so many more important things out there. Think of all of the money we could save! The cost of imprisoning all of these druggies alone has to be pretty high (no pun intended).
Plus, if drugs are legal, we can regulate and tax them, which means more revenue! |

We could make tons of money off of legalized drugs, but what kind of country would we be to legalize drugs. If we were to legalize thing such as Cocaine and heroine, I could only see even more violent crimes happening. Legalizing drugs is just not a smart thing.

Exactly! Take the power away from the dealer, generate tax revenue and save the money it takes locking people up.

I'm generally for less restrictions, but I haven't made up my mind on drugs yet. I admire Edmund Burke more than any other statesman (pretty much), and this quote of his might be appropriate:

I think most of the country would be ok with just marijuana being legalized. We can use the money earned off of legalization to educate people to avoid the harder drugs.
