Arrow Don Imus is not racist
I don't know if you have heard about the recent comments of Don Imus, where he calls a womans basketball team nappy headed ho's. I listen to Imus in the Morning on a regular basis and I find him absolutely hilarious. You should have listened to him talk to John Kerry when he said awful things about out troops.

Anyways, I know that he is not racist as he was just trying to throw out a joke. He has apologized and apparently people are saying it's "not enough" and that he should be fired. Honestly, screw them. What else do you want from him??

I hate Don Imus, and I think he is a racist. He is a political blow-hard, who is on a power-trip because he has a radio show. He is a two-bit republican Howard Stern wannabe.

Well, at least the good Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have something new to bitch about now.

I hate them too... I believe that they do no good to help the black community and it behooves them to keep blacks in a bad position because it keeps themselves (sharpton & jackson) in good positions...

If you can honestly sit here and say that Don Imus isn't a racist, then you are probably a racist yourself. His comments were far from inappropriate. I say the basketball game that he was referring to. And quite honestly, most of, if not all of the Rutgers females were rather unattractive. But why not just say that? Why not just call them ugly if thats the joke you were trying to make. The term "nappy headed hos" wasn't directed at their unattractiveness, but squarely at their race. Just once I'd like to see these obviously racist talk show hosts like Imus and Limbaugh just admit it. Don't offer a fake apology just because everyone is upset, and then make a similar comment the next day. Just come out and admit your feelings. While you may still be hated for your comments, at least you may gain some measure of respect for your honesty.

And as far as Imus being fired. What difference would it make? The next day there would just be another one to replace him.

I agree with everything you said except RHS potentially being a racist. I firmly believe that RHS is a good man, he's just an optimistic true-believer... He'll grow out of that.

But you are right, I think it's appalling that these racist nut-bags are able to get away with such ridiculous activity, and still keep their listening base. It's sad that Americans can not think for themselves enough to be able to say "I like this guy, but I disagree with him on this subject, and he is wrong".

You miss the issue. First you do not know if Imus is a Racist or not. But intolerence is clearly not against the law or half the preachers in this country would be arrested. This is a good event to debate freedom of speech. If you don't like what Imus says, don't watch his damn show. I will give you 2 great examples. I have heard Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity speak much more intolerent statements about people.

Oh you are absolutely right. I agree 100%. The sad fact is that the KKK has done more to ensure our right to free speech than any other single organization. There is no doubting that. I also agree that if you dislike him, don't watch him, I don't, and never will. I am just disheartened that anyone does. The fact that he can get any kind of positive reaction in this country goes to show just what bad shape we are in these days, and how screwed up American values have become.

He should be man enough to apologize in person, but I am sure like most of these radio 'pundits' he's probably a coward. If he wants to show sincerity in his apology, let him give each of those girls (who should be commended not degraded) a small scholarship. He's a fucktard.

Granted.

I do think it was wrong for him to say that, but I just feel that he just meant to use the racist remark as a joke. It seems that he does step over the line when he uses racist remarks as jokes, but I was leaning towards "it's only a joke"

Sorry for our differences in opinion. And secondly, I am not racist.
