8 US Attorneys were fired by the Bush Administration. Democrats are wondering whether these firings were politically motivated. The Democrats believe that the emails would prove this claim, thus they were deleted.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Of course, the Attorneys served "at the pleasure of the president" and could be let go at any time for no reason, or any reason. Clinton let 93 of them go all at once. So what if the president didnt care for the efforts of these few....and wanted to replace them with people more aligned to his administration style? So what?

Oh, he's a Republican, so he can't do the same things Democrats always do.

That would be just fine if the President said he let them go. He didn't.

All this fuss and muss over 8 US Attorneys and the question of whether their firings were political. I hope that when the Senate continues with their hearings, that included in the Witness list is at least one of the 93 removed from office by Bill Clinton.

If they find wrong doing on the part of Bush and/or Gonzales in their actions, then they must also find wrong doing on the part of one of their own, Senator Clinton. Remember she said "We are the President".

Actually, it's just fine ANYWAY except with Congressmen who have no other way to gain notice of their politics! I'm quite sure the president designates an underling or a cabinet member to deal with these things. If he told someone to get more qualified people at Justice, would that mean to you that HE personally fired them????? And what difference would it make? A big ZERO. They are just grandstanding and looking for any way they can to gain notice for themselves, to act like now they are in charge, and the President is at their beck and call....and must bow to their will.

The news media is saying this is a criminal issue and maybe someone will go to jail or GWB may be impeached.

The media is not to be believed on this. Nothing criminal happened because some attorneys were fired, when they knew, they all KNEW they served at the pleasure of the president and could be let go at any time.

This also makes you wonder what sort of things they AREN'T reporting on while they concentrate on their GET BUSH campaign. It should make you wonder. Your former president was a perjuror, and just who do you think in the Senate will have the guts to do anything about a few missing emails? Especially after they refused to even look at the evidence against Clinton, and weren't interested in convicting him of anything.

What these raving leftist lunatics don't seem to realize is just how marginalized our nation - the entire thing - will become if every president elected is impeached for some imagined slight! Are we all ready to sink into third-worldism? Clinton committed real crimes....no one held him accountable.

When they lock up that lying leftist Sandy Burgler for crimes against the state, while doing Clinton's bidding, I might think the Congress is interested in doing something OTHER than posturing and drawing attention to themselves.
