I dunno, but many do unfortunately. I guess cause such shows feed into the stereotype of what people have been raised to believe 'witches' are like in general.

I do have to say, I've always found it interesting watching the faces of those when I answer their questions about my own path. Usually the first thing that pops out of them as a response is 'but you don't look like a pagan' with a look of surprise. And once they do realize that we look, act, and live just like them but just persue a different spiritual path, they usually show a great curiosity to learn more about our paths.

Most people on here know how I feel about paternalistic religions... controlling, dominating, destructive, the cause of ecological imbalance, etc...
My husband (tyreay) and I are both ordained humanist ministers and I have adopted pagan traditions, which are in synch with my beliefs concerning the environment and the world around us, the cycles of the seasons, the scientifically proven connections on human behavior with lunar cycles, the interconnectedness of all living things, cause and effect (karma), the proven psychological benefits of meditation, which I believe is the same psychological benefit achieved by prayer, and the need for male and female for procreation.
However, I do believe that everyone has the right to beliefs that make sense to them.
Our Task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, the whole of nature, and its beauty.

I'm a really big fan of the Wiccan saying "An it harm none, do what thou wilt." I'm not particularly spiritual, though quite a few of my friends are. Two are pagans, too, and they're cool, but I've just never had much of a connection to the spiritual world.

Pagans still exist in numbers? What will they think of next? (maybe I should look to the stars [sorry, I mean Gods] to find out ).

I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was just adding info to the subject. What you have said about the trials is all accurate.

Partially baiting on his party, but mainly it's denial.
