Vice President Dick Cheney used the deck of an American aircraft carrier just 150 miles off Iran’s coast as the backdrop today to warn the country that the United States was prepared to use its naval power to keep Tehran from disrupting off oil routes or “gaining nuclear weapons and dominating this region.”

And a good deal of the reason we need to defend our 'vested interests' is so that we have the right to drive the six blocks up the mini mart to get another six pack, the right to keep that air conditioning on in 74 degree heat, the right to let everyone drive the 40 miles to that really good party instead of car pooling.

Far better to loose a few thousand men and women to defend our 'rights' than to sit down and have dinner to discuss the problem and work it out in a civilized manner.

If we are very lucky the U.S.A. will survive. I have my doubts because it seems that U.S. citizens no longer have the will to bring their government under control.
