Gonzales has resigned, officials say
Embattled U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has resigned, senior administration officials told CNN today. Many lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have long called for his ouster after the firing of several U.S. attorneys in 2006. developing story

Who never thought that this was coming??

In an referral to the Bush administration, his may as well be the Humpty Dumpty administration. Gonzales resigns. Whoever takes his place will only be in office for a short period, until we assume that a Democratic administration takes over in 2009.

Looks like the pieces of the present administration may never be picked up, just like the H.D. character.

Oh well, the sun will continue to shine, as long as there are no clouds obscurring El Sol.

It hasn't anything to do with paybacks for the Clinton scandals. It has to do with the politicizing of the Justice Dept. Gonzales never stopped being Bush's lawyer. And had no problem allowing any illegal activity the White House wanted, like warrantless wire taps on American citizens. And the fact that he lied under oath to Congress.

though payback for Clinton is a nice byproduct LOL, this is because Bush has consistently appointed old buddies and family friends instead of getting the best talent for the jobs

Well at least Gonzales doesn't have to worry too much about having his name dragged through the mud.

Within 3 months he won't recall any of this.
