Here in Lower Michigan, the color tours are usually between mid October to late October. But in the UP it's usually in mid-September it starts.

Also, I don't know if you are aware of it, but if you have a pretty dry summer the colors in fall won't be as vibrant.
Well I guess it rains more in the NE than in the SW during the summer. Since San Diego is in the WSW area, we always have a dry summer, so I don't pay much attention to the fall colors here.

So I guess the leaves will start to turn brown in the New England area by mid-September? I plan on going to Salem as well by tour bus from Boston. So maybe on the trip I may see a lot of them. I've never have visited the area before, especially at that time of the year.

You would likely have to travel north of Boston and into the White Mountains of New Hampshire during that period in order to see good fall colors:

You're going to Salem? You'll love it - it's a beautiful little place -especially the historic district.

I went there twice at Hallowe'en - the trees were mostly bare by then, so probably you'll get some color!

Yep, to visit the Witch Museum.

Halloween? Were you expecting to see witches there?

Thanks. I only have 5 days to spend there, then got to hurry on home in case the Padres are in the playoffs.

I DID see witches there LOL LOL LOL

make sure you go to Laurie Cabot's shop!!!! She's like the "head witch" there in Salem - and is actually quite famous around the country.

her shop is lots of fun - full of potions and books and souveniers and assorted very cool stuff!

I'll probably be visiting that place during the tour. Can't imagine what the potions would be, other than making tea.

No problem. Enjoy your stay in Mass.

I'd wish your team the best of luck....

....but I won't since I'm a Mets fan.

Who, the Padres? I felt the Mets got gypped last night when the umps rule the runner slid out of the baseline, trying to break up the double play. The hitter would have been safe anway, and the game would have been tied.

I didn't watch the game nor see highlights from the game...although from reading about that event during the ninth inning it does seem controversial.

I'm actually much, much more of a hockey fan and I usually don't start getting into watching MLB until September. I usually just keep an eye on the standings before things start heating up in baseball.

Are the Padres your favorite MLB team?
