My son's godmother is from Cleveland, and I've been told by her that the locals never forgave Art Modell for moving the Browns out to Baltimore (to become the expansion team the Baltimore Ravens). She says that they are a little happier now that they have a team again, but now they must wait until the team starts winning.

I don't think any Cleveland Browns' fan would ever forgive Art Modell for what he did. The same with the Irsays who moved the Colts from Baltimore to Indianapolis. And look what happened at the last Super Bowl.

That may be because the fans of these teams view their histories as "tainted". In other words, it was not the Baltimore Colts of old, in the Johnny Unitas days that won last year's Super Bowl, but an "offshoot". I'm sure the Irsays are not at the top (if on any at all) of many Christmas lists in Baltimore.
