Alito Sworn In as Nation's 110th Supreme Court Justice
Alito Sworn In as Nation's 110th Supreme Court Justice
Tuesday, January 31, 2006
By Jane Roh

Samuel Alito was sworn in as the nation's 110th Supreme Court justice on Tuesday, less than two hours after the Senate voted 58-42 to confirm him to the nation's highest court.

"Sam Alito is a brilliant and fair-minded judge who strictly interprets the Constitution and laws and does not legislate from the bench. He is a man of deep character and integrity, and he will make all Americans proud as a justice on our highest court," President Bush said in a statement after the confirmation vote.

Can someone please send me a link to some info on his personal views. All I can find on him is the Republicans praising him and the democracts bashing.

Trivial tidbit addition, but I found it interesting...

"Frist, R-Tenn., and a fellow Princeton graduate, read from a school publication (1972 Nassau Herald yearbook) a prediction that Alito would eventually "warm a seat" on the Supreme Court.
("Sam intends to go to law school and eventually to warm a seat on the Supreme Court")

"That was a college joke," Alito said with a grin. "I think my real ambition at the time was to be commissioner of baseball. Of course, I never dreamed that this day would arrive.""

The web-sites have other information that is not as trivial, and would possibly be more pertinent to somebody who wanted real information about Justice Alito.

Terrible man to be a judge. Supreme court is under attack.
--- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope ---

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.
