Considering the fact that the United Arab Emirates has supported terrorism directly, and supported even the largest terrorist attack in history on our nation's soil, and the fact that this transaction would make the ports even more accessable to terrorism; could this be considered, in a way, considered as adhering to the enemies of the United States? Also you have to consider the fact that the President is threatening to use his veto power against a consensus of the vast majority of Americans and congress.
Just a thought.
It seems as if Bush has taken his personal corporate ties so far as to lose the trust of his own party.

I don't think something such as the security of our ports should be outsourced to any country, but most especially not to a country that openly supported al-Qaeda prior to 9-11. If our security was outsourced previously, that should be fixed by handing it over to a U.S. company. I personally find it appalling. |

It is even the Republicans talking overturning the VETO, I do not have the time to provide a link presentlly, but will later

What WILL take place will be interesting to see... |

Level up: 23%, 70 Points needed | | Losing his own base! Did you all notice how quickly the Republicans distanced themselves from Bush's decision to support the Dubai Ports World purchase? So it obviously wasn't just a partisan issue. Both sides were in agreement (finally) that Bush made a stupid decision. All the while he kept saying, "I cain't understaind whaah everbody thanks this is a bad duhcision!".
......so, I guess it's safe to let an Arab company run some of our nation's ports because The Patiot Act will magicly protect us...? (obvious sarcasm)
Here's a cartoon I drew a couple weeks ago.
