Just out of curiosity... where are you getting this 47% figure at?

I'd also be interested to know just exactly what stores and retailers are considered WalMart's "competitors". For instance, WalMart sells tires - so are all tire shops considered competitors? If that is the case, then WalMart is a competitor with virtually every store in every town, because WalMart sells pretty much everything from ethnic foods to gasoline.

So... even IF WalMart ONLY closed down 47% of the "competition", that might be literally half of all stores in every town WalMart goes into.

...and that's not good.
I haven't seen a Walmart that sold tires around here in Massachusetts...If anyone has, what brand(s) of tires do they usually sell??
As far as brands go I can not tell you, (Wallmart would be the last place I go for tires) but the 2 Walmart supercenters near me both have tire centers (Plymouth, MA & Raynham, MA) next time I am in there I will try and check it out.

I'll do the same. One thing convenient about the Walmart supercenter in NH is they sell liquor 24/7 We college students spend a lot of our time at Walmart buying food and such...I hope that's not a bad thing.

As for tires and such, yea right!

The WalMart SuperCenters sell everything - including tires. They'll change your oil too - if you don't mind having the oil filter only screwed on half way, or the drain plug threads stripped because the idiot used an impact wrench on them.

They sell all brands of tires - from Goodyear to Bridgestone.

Actually, I'm dead serious about the people who work in the automotive service centers at WalMart. For the most part, they're idiots.

It amazes me how much you know about things.
Have you learned this from your extensive time at having your automobile serviced in Wal-Marts?

Or is it more accurate that you don't even use Wal-Mart in the first place, as your posts would suggest...

Actually, it's not.

I have no need to respond to dick-head comments like that.

The sheer stupidity of Foundit66 has spoken loud and clear.

Ahhh yes.
It's "not ugly"...
... but my comments are referred to as "dick-head", and myself referenced with the phrase "sheer stupidity".

And true to form, Jefferson has completely ignored the point I was making.

Which, despite what Jefferson may think, speaks "loud and clear" about Jefferson's debating tactics...
You claim a lot of knowledge, but in actually listening to you speak, you display very little...

What would you like to know? That I got my oil changed there once and they stripped the threads? Would that make you happy, you little twit?

Would you like to know that I spend a great deal of time doing automotive work, and I spend a lot of time on related forums - and they ALL say the same stuff about WalMart's auto departments?

Would you like to know - for a fact - that WalMart often sells tires that are 'blems" (not that you even know what those are), but don't tell the customer that they're blems?

Would you like me to give you the names of about 10 friends of mine who have had unbelievably stupid things done to their cars at WalMart - including one guy who caught them "cuttin' cookies" in the parking lot with his pickup. I just tell them that I can't believe they actually take their cars into the WalMart service center.

Would that make you happy? Would that shut your snottly little mouth?

I doubt it. Dick head.

But do feel free to take your car to WalMart - that is, if you even are old enough to have a car and a driver's license.
